What is the TUM 3R+Hub?
The TUM 3R+Hub is TUM's central digital knowledge platform for promoting the 3R approach to animal research: replace, reduce, and refine. "TUM 3R+" expands these principles to include the dimension of innovation. The TUM 3R+Hub serves as a platform for fostering and improving compliance with animal welfare standards in research across the university. It upholds high standards in both scientific research and animal welfare and developes them through the expansion of infrastructure.

Goals of the TUM 3R+Hub
- Closer networking and cooperation
The TUM 3R+Hub aims to mirror TUM's 3R activities and facilitate information exchange among research institutes. By providing an overview of interdisciplinary projects, the Hub aims to reduce and improve animal testing. - Greater transparency and knowledge transformation
Providing an overview of current research results and best practices is at the center of the TUM 3R+Hub. Findings on animal welfare, new research methods, and alternatives to animal testing can be integrated into scientific practice more easily and quickly. - Overview of training and further education
Researchers, students, and trainees receive an overview of training courses, seminars, and continuing education programs on animal-based and alternative research.
